August Already?

Hi Everybody!

Its been a couple of months since my last update and so much has happened this summer! On July 17th I turned 18 months and on the 27th I had my 18th Dr appointment. I was 24 3/4 pounds (58th %tile), 33" tall (2'9", its more fun to say it like that. 86th %tile), and my head is 19 1/4" around (96th %tile). I'm still rocking that big head, but I think it adds to my overall cuteness factor (99th %tile). Most people agree.

Its hard to remember all that has happened since my last post on May 16th, so I'll start with the most recent stuff and work my way back. This weekend Mommy and Daddy went to Green Bay, WI to run in a 5k and hang out for the first day of Packers training camp. I have learned what the Packers symbol looks like and I point to it, say "Pa..." and clap whenever I see it. It seems to make Daddy really happy. We have a lot of Packers symbols around the house so I get to do that a lot.

Anyway, Popi and Gigi came to stay with me while Mommy and Daddy were in Green Bay and we had lots of fun. We went to Randall Oaks farm, and to the park, and McDonald's, and other stuff. And they bought me a tent and tunnel to play with. I really love it. Daddy has been using a blanket to make a tent for me with a mat that I used to lay on as an infant and I love playing with it. This tent is even bigger and the tunnel is so cool. Thanks Popi and Gigi, I love it.

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Danville for the 4th of July and saw lots of family and friends. We had the traditional 4th of July party at the farm and I played with all of the other kids. It was a very hot and very fun day. That was also the day that Jackie took the picture of me that is currently at the top of the blog.

Also in July Mommy, Daddy, and I went to the Kohl's Children's Museum. They had a 25th anniversary celebration so there were special activities there. Ms. Lori from WTTW was there singing and I had a great time dancing with her. There are three great videos of it on my youtube channel (you can click the link on the right).

We've been to the pool a couple of times this summer. Elgin has a great public pool with lots of fun things to play with in the water. I still love swimming and have a great time playing in the water.

We also went to the Kane County Fair this summer. My favorite part was the petting zoo where I got to walk around and pet goats, bunnies, and chickens. I was confused about what to do at first and the animals scared me. But after a few minutes I liked petting them. I would go up to one, wave to it, pet it once, and then move on to the next one. One of the goats tried to eat my dress, but Daddy shooed it away. Also at the fair we saw all of the 4H animals, a bunch of cows, rabbits, and pigs. We ate some good food. And when Daddy ran into his friends Rick and Mary she shared her fries with me! That was a pretty great day.

The worst day was probably the Saturday I was sick with a fever and had to go to the Emergency Room. It turned out to be no big deal but they wanted to do some tests to make sure. It was scary and took a really long time. I didn't like it and hope I don't ever have to go back.

I think that is most of the "one-time" events from the summer. We've also gone to the library a lot and I finished my summer reading program and got a free book! I've played outside a lot, except when it is too hot. John Michael comes over every week to play and we go on other play dates also.

I think that is enough for now. I'll try to get Daddy to start posting more often than just after my doctor appointments. There is so much more fun stuff to talk about than my weight and height!

Talk to you soon.

Bye Everybody!

Is It Summer Yet?

Hi Everybody!

I am about ready to go outside without a jacket on, how about you? I love playing outside, and this summer is going to be so much better than last summer now that I can run and play. Plus, Mommy bought me a car! There are pictures in the gallery of me driving it and a video of it on youtube. --->

So, it has been a few weeks since my last post. I went to the doctor at the end of April for my 15 month checkup. It went well, but I had to get more shots which was really crummy. I do not like them one bit. My measurements were:
Weight: 23.25 lbs, 58th percentile
Height: 32.25" (2' 8.25"), 94th percentile
Head Circum: 19", 97th percentile
So, basically, I am still average weight, really tall, with a really big head. It's no wonder I fall down so much.

Last weekend we went to Danville for Mother's Day and had so much fun. I got to see Gigi, Grammie, Aunt Lisa, and, of course, Mommy. I got Mommy a book I thought she would like. Saturday night Mommy and Daddy went out so I got to hang out at PopPop's with Grammie, Sissy, Frog, and Baby Jake! Sunday we went to Popi and Gigi's house for a cookout and I got to play with Demi, Drew, and Uncle Andy. It was a fun weekend.

Last week Mommy took me to the library everyday because it was Children's Book Week. She says I am the youngest and least shy kid there. I like going to the library and listening to the stories and playing with the other kids. It is a lot of fun.

I also like playing at the park, or really anywhere outside. In fact, when Mommy or Daddy even say the word "outside" I am already grabbing my coat and shoes so they can get me ready to go out and play.

I am pretty much eating everything now. Everything except nuts, I cannot have those until I'm two. But Mommy recently introduced me to suckers, which I really like. They are tasty, messy, and sticky...a great combination.

Well that is about it for now. I am looking forward to playing outside everyday once the weather gets better. I also hope to go see Poppa Cooper's horses run at Arlington, get a visit from Grammie, Popi, and Gigi, and go to the zoo. And who knows what other fun things we will do this summer. I'll keep you posted.

Bye Everybody!

Happy Easter!

Hi everybody!

Happy Easter!

Daddy and I are very sorry that it has been almost two months since my last blog entry. February is a pretty busy month for our family because there are so many birthdays to celebrate. We went to Danville, and to visit Poppa Cooper, we saw everybody!

March was a busy month too. I got to spend the night at Popi and Gigi's while Mommy and Daddy went to a birthday party in Bloomington. It was so much fun that I didn't want to leave the next morning.

Another weekend we went to visit Uncle Roy and Aunt Karen. I had a lot of fun exploring their condo and chasing around their new kitty cat.

I also visited Grammie and Grandpa Brad's last weekend. I went to visit Grammie at her store and there were baby chicks and baby ducks there! They were very cute, but I didn't really know what to make of them. I petted one, but for the most part just looked at them curiously. I am starting to like the trip to Indy because Mommy and Daddy stop at Fair Oaks Farm for some ice cream! We stopped on the way down and on the way back! Yum!

Also on the way back we stopped at Poppa Cooper's again for a quick visit so that Daddy could watch the second half of some basketball game. I guess Daddy joined a pool to pick the NCAA tournament winners, and he could win it if Duke wins the championship this weekend. So I guess, just for this weekend, we are Blue Devil fans. It seems weird to root for the devils on Easter weekend, but I'm sure Daddy and Mommy will explain it all to me when I'm older.

Also in March I went to visit the Easter Bunny and got my picture taken. There were any other people there visiting the Easter Bunny, so he got down on the ground with me and played with me. That was the fun part, getting the picture taken was kind of boring. I wanted to stare at this giant bunny that was holding me, not look at the camera.

So now you are caught up with me from the past couple of months. I think I remembered most of it. The weather was really nice this past week, so Mommy and I have been playing outside more while Daddy is at work. We came to visit him for lunch one day and played by the pond at his office.

Quick funny story. As Daddy finished that last paragraph I walked by and he could smell my poopy diaper. So he took me upstairs to change me and let me hold onto the little plastic coated picture album I was carrying around. Everything was going fine for Daddy and he was almost done cleaning me, then I threw the picture album right into the poop in my diaper. He wasn't real happy, but I thought it was kind of funny.

One last thing, this weekend should be a lot of fun. Today is a little rainy, so we are staying in and playing until church. After church, Eric, Kristen, and baby Hannah are coming over to color Easter eggs. Then tomorrow, Mommy, Daddy, and I are going to an Easter brunch and then to see Poppa Cooper. I hope Aunt Allison, Aunt Katie, and Uncle Peter are there.

Finally, for those keeping track, Daddy weighed me this morning and I'm 23 pounds.

Bye Everybody!

Go Colts!

Hi Everybody!

It is Super Bowl Sunday and Mommy, Daddy, and I are all excited and ready for a Colts victory. Mommy made some great snacks and we are all ready for kickoff.

Since my last post we had my first birthday party and a lot of family and friends came to wish me a happy birthday. Mommy did a great job decorating our house for the party. There were balloons all over the place, and they have stayed up for the two weeks since the party. I really like them. I point to them all the time and say "Ba" or "Ba-ooo".

I had my one-year doctor appointment. I am 21 lbs (51st %tile), 30" tall (80th %tile), and have an 18 3/4" head (98th %tile).

Unfortunately, we all have started out the year getting sick, so I've been to the doctor a little more than Mommy and Daddy would like. This week I had Roseola, which really did not bother me all that much. Its almost gone now, and I hope that is the last illness for quite a while.

Swimming lessons are going really well. I am learning to pull myself out of the water and then jump back in, and I am getting better at kicking and splashing at the right times. I really like swimming. After my birthday party I went to the hotel Popi and Gigi were staying at and swam in their pool with them, Aunt Leslie, Courtney, and Kendall.

I am walking very well now, and usually choose walking over crawling. I have also realized what hugging means, and like giving loving hugs to Mommy, Daddy, and all my stuffed animals and baby dolls.

Well, the game is about to start so its time to get my game face on. Talk to you soon.

Bye Everybody!

Problem fixed

Hi everybody!

The problem with the pictures has been fixed.

Bye everybody!

Pictures Problem

Hi Everybody!

The pictures on the right are a little messed up right now. While Daddy figures out the issue he added a link called "Newest Pictures" where you can see all the latest pictures of me, including the ones from my first hair cut today.

Bye Everybody!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hi Everybody!

Guess what? Today is my birthday! That's right, I am one year old today. What a year it has been. I wonder what the next 12 months will be like?

Today I got my first haircut. Daddy and Mommy recorded it and took lots of pictures. The videos are on youtube and the pictures are in the usual spot. Check them out.

Since my last post I have been a sick little girl. I had RSV. I had to have breathing treatments every 3 hours and I've been coughing and stuffed up. I hate those breathing treatments. When I was feeling the worst I was pretty upset and wanted Mommy and Daddy to hold me all the time. But last Wednesday was the worst day and I am getting better everyday and am almost 100% back to my normal happy-all-the-time self.

I am walking more and more every day. I am also climbing on everything that is climbable, and some things that are not. I have stopped drinking formula and switched to milk. I am also doing a lot better with my sippy cup and hold it and drink from it all by myself almost all the time. I've started swimming lessons again, this time in the evening so Daddy gets to come with me. I am also going to the library reading classes with Mommy each week.

Mommy, Daddy, and me have been having fun watching the NFL playoffs and Illini basketball. We were really bummed when the Packers lost, but the Colts are still in it and are going to go all the way!

Well that's about it for now. I am really looking forward to my birthday party next week and I'll post another entry after to let you all know how great it is. Oh, and if you are reading this and still looking for gift ideas for me, here you go:
  • 18 month swimsuit
  • 18 month clothes for wearing now
  • 18-24 month clothes for Spring
  • 12-24 month socks
  • Crayons and paper for toddlers
  • DVDs
  • Retro Fisher Price toys
  • 18-24 month pajamas
Bye Everybody!

Happy New Year

Hi everybody!

Happy New Year! I know I am a few days late, but its still January so I can still say that, right? Speaking of January, my BIRTHDAY is coming up!! I am going to be one year old in eight days. Wow, that year went fast!

This year is starting off great. I am walking a little more each day. And I love climbing... on everything. I climb up on the gates Daddy put up in front of all the stairs, I climb on the gate Mommy puts up to keep me out of the kitchen, and I climb up on the dining room chairs. I even figured out that I can lay stuff in front of the couch and then use that to climb up on the couch. Daddy freaks out a little bit when I climb, but I really like it and am going to keep on climbing.

After Christmas I got to stay with Grammie for a few days while Mommy and Daddy went to a Green Bay Packers game with Poppa Cooper, Aunt Allison, and Uncle Peter. I had a lot of fun and Grandpa Brad fed me Pirate's Booty popcorn. That stuff is really good.

This week Mommy started watching our neighbor Jon Jr a couple of days a week. He's pretty cool and we like hanging out together. I think he will be more fun when he gets a little older, but we still have a pretty good time. I also have another new friend named Hannah, but she was just born so I can only look at her right now. When Daddy held me next to her I couldn't believe I was ever that small and that I've grown so much in just a year.

So, obviously, the most important thing this month is my birthday. But Popi's birthday is this month too. And I am really looking forward to the NFL playoffs. Last year I didn't really know what was going on, but this year its all about the Packers and Colts. I've even learned how to signal a "touchdown" in time for the games this weekend. You can see a video of me doing it on my youtube channel. The link is over on the right.

Well that is about it for now. Talk to you soon. Skype me if you want to video chat!

Bye Everybody!
