Home from the hospital

Hi Everybody!

I am home from the hospital now after getting tubes put in my ears. The surgery went very quickly and we were only at the hospital for two hours. I got to wear a special gown and special socks, and the took me to the operating room in a cool car. They gave me something to go to sleep and when I woke up they brought Mommy and Daddy back to see me. I was not real happy at first, but after I got some milk and crackers and got a chance to cuddle with Mommy for 30 minutes I was ready to go home. Now I am home, back to normal, and ready to play. The doctor said there was a lot of fluid in my ears and that I should start hearing things louder and clearer now.

Bye Everybody!

A little surgery

Hi Everybody!

Tomorrow morning I am going to the hospital to get tubes put in my ears. I have been getting a lot of ear infections lately, and the doctor says the tubes will help prevent them from happening so much. The doctor said that the surgery will be quick and I probably won't even know anything happened. I'll just sleep through it and then be rested and ready to play when I wake up around lunch time.

I'll check back in with you tomorrow and let you know how it went. Plus I need to tell you about my fun trip to Memphis with Mommy, Grammie, and Pop-Pop.

Please say a prayer for the doctors, Mommy, Daddy, and me tonight.

Bye Everybody!

I had a great day today! I went and saw the Easter Bunny! He was really cool and I liked him a lot. Daddy uploaded my picture with him, just click the "Year Three April" album on the right. I also go to visit with our friends Kelly and Dan. It was a great day.

Also, Daddy has uploaded around 10 new videos of me on youtube. Check them out. Talk to you soon.

Bye Everybody!

I'm back!

Hi everybody!

First of all, before everyone gets on my case, yes, I realize it has been over 7 months since my last post. I'm sorry. Daddy is going to try to do a better job of putting shorter, more frequent updates on here instead of waiting so long that there is too much to say. We'll see how that goes.

Well obviously I'm not going to get too detailed about everything that has happened since my last post. Here are some quick highlights.

Halloween was fun, I was a pink bunny, went trick-or-treating around Poppa Cooper's neighborhood, and got lots of candy.

Thanksgiving was fun. We went to Atlanta to visit Uncle Dan, Aunt Mimi, and Precious. We went to the aquarium. I also went to my first Packers game! It was very loud but fun. They lost, but they avenged that loss a few months later (more on that below).

Christmas was fun, but I was sick on Christmas day. In fact, I kept everyone at the farm up most of the night before Christmas. I still had fun opening presents and seeing my entire family.

I turned TWO on January 17th. Can you believe it? I'm such a big girl. We had a football themed party.
A lot of people came to celebrate with me and I got a lot of great presents. Everyone wore jerseys and there were Packers and Colts cupcakes. The Packers were still in the playoffs at that point, they had just avenged their regular season loss to Atlanta by beating them in the playoffs the week before my party. But what happened next was even better.

The Packers won the Super Bowl! After beating the Bears in the NFC Championship the day after my party there was a two week celebration in our house. I learned how happy it made Daddy when I sang "Green and Yellow, Green and Yellow" (I still do it sometimes just to see him smile). Then came the big game and we went down to Poppa Cooper's to watch with the family. We were all so happy when they won. I feel a little bad for Popi because he is a Steelers fan. I think I'll work on getting him to switch to "Green and Yellow".

In other news, I've been sick a lot this winter and after my last ear infection the doctor recommended I get tubes put in my ear. I just had a hearing test last week, which went great. The tube surgery is near the end of April.

Finally, just some general comments. I still the happiest girl you've ever met. I'm talking a lot more, and in a lot of complete sentences. Mommy and Daddy get a kick out of something I say almost everyday. I love to paint and color. I have an American Girl doll I named Becky, a Pottery Barn doll I named Sophie, and a Build-A-Bear bunny I named Bunny Jane Cooper. Once I learned my name was Alexis Jane Cooper I started calling everyone by their name plus Jane Cooper (Mommy Jane Cooper, Daddy Jane Cooper, etc). I love reading books. I love swimming. I love helping Mommy clean and helping Daddy unload the dishwasher.

You will notice the links to the picture albums changed a little bit, but you should still be able to tell where the pictures are. Daddy has upload a ton of new pictures and some new videos to my youtube channel. Hope you like them.

Talk to you again soon.

Bye everybody!

August Already?

Hi Everybody!

Its been a couple of months since my last update and so much has happened this summer! On July 17th I turned 18 months and on the 27th I had my 18th Dr appointment. I was 24 3/4 pounds (58th %tile), 33" tall (2'9", its more fun to say it like that. 86th %tile), and my head is 19 1/4" around (96th %tile). I'm still rocking that big head, but I think it adds to my overall cuteness factor (99th %tile). Most people agree.

Its hard to remember all that has happened since my last post on May 16th, so I'll start with the most recent stuff and work my way back. This weekend Mommy and Daddy went to Green Bay, WI to run in a 5k and hang out for the first day of Packers training camp. I have learned what the Packers symbol looks like and I point to it, say "Pa..." and clap whenever I see it. It seems to make Daddy really happy. We have a lot of Packers symbols around the house so I get to do that a lot.

Anyway, Popi and Gigi came to stay with me while Mommy and Daddy were in Green Bay and we had lots of fun. We went to Randall Oaks farm, and to the park, and McDonald's, and other stuff. And they bought me a tent and tunnel to play with. I really love it. Daddy has been using a blanket to make a tent for me with a mat that I used to lay on as an infant and I love playing with it. This tent is even bigger and the tunnel is so cool. Thanks Popi and Gigi, I love it.

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Danville for the 4th of July and saw lots of family and friends. We had the traditional 4th of July party at the farm and I played with all of the other kids. It was a very hot and very fun day. That was also the day that Jackie took the picture of me that is currently at the top of the blog.

Also in July Mommy, Daddy, and I went to the Kohl's Children's Museum. They had a 25th anniversary celebration so there were special activities there. Ms. Lori from WTTW was there singing and I had a great time dancing with her. There are three great videos of it on my youtube channel (you can click the link on the right).

We've been to the pool a couple of times this summer. Elgin has a great public pool with lots of fun things to play with in the water. I still love swimming and have a great time playing in the water.

We also went to the Kane County Fair this summer. My favorite part was the petting zoo where I got to walk around and pet goats, bunnies, and chickens. I was confused about what to do at first and the animals scared me. But after a few minutes I liked petting them. I would go up to one, wave to it, pet it once, and then move on to the next one. One of the goats tried to eat my dress, but Daddy shooed it away. Also at the fair we saw all of the 4H animals, a bunch of cows, rabbits, and pigs. We ate some good food. And when Daddy ran into his friends Rick and Mary she shared her fries with me! That was a pretty great day.

The worst day was probably the Saturday I was sick with a fever and had to go to the Emergency Room. It turned out to be no big deal but they wanted to do some tests to make sure. It was scary and took a really long time. I didn't like it and hope I don't ever have to go back.

I think that is most of the "one-time" events from the summer. We've also gone to the library a lot and I finished my summer reading program and got a free book! I've played outside a lot, except when it is too hot. John Michael comes over every week to play and we go on other play dates also.

I think that is enough for now. I'll try to get Daddy to start posting more often than just after my doctor appointments. There is so much more fun stuff to talk about than my weight and height!

Talk to you soon.

Bye Everybody!
