Dr. Appt. Update

Hi everybody.

My checkup at the doctor went great. She says I'm still healthy and told Mommy and Daddy to start feeding me real food (more on that later). I am 15 lbs 5 oz (84th %tile), 25 inches long (78th %tile), and have a 16 1/4 inch head (60th %tile). Of course then they gave me more shots. Those really stink. I handled it a little better than last time, but they still really hurt. Mommy and Daddy both wanted to console me so badly. I'm glad they both love me so much.

So the doctor told Mommy and Daddy to start feeding me real food in addition to formula. I am going to start out by eating rice cereal during one feeding everyday. After about a week I get to try veggies, first orange ones, then green ones. After another week or so I get to try fruit. I had my first meal in my high chair eating at the table with Mommy and Daddy tonight. They took turns feeding me while the other person recorded it. Daddy uploaded the videos to my youtube channel (the link is over on the right side of this page). There are three new videos: Mommy feeds Alexis for first time, Daddy feeds Alexis for first time, and Alexis loves bath time. I really do love bath time. I always have, but I recently learned how to splash and that is taking it to a whole new level. Check out the videos, they're fun.

Bye everybody.

I'm 4 months old!

Hi everybody!

Today I am four months old. I can't believe that four months went so quickly. But it sure seems like a lot has happened in those four months. Daddy says I am a very happy and healthy baby. I smile all the time now and laugh and wiggle a lot. Sometimes I do get a little fussy, but Mommy thinks it is because I am getting a tooth. But overall I am a very content and happy baby. I sleep through the night most of the time. I have been eating 6oz of formula at a time for a while now and Mom and Dad just started adding a little cereal to my bottle as well. You can really tell I like to eat, I have grown a lot. Tomorrow I go to the doctor and get official measurements, but a couple weeks ago Daddy weighed me at 15 pounds. I can't wait to see what the doctor says!

The past couple of weeks have been fun and busy. The first week in May, Mommy and I went to visit Grammie for a whole week. Daddy had to stay at home, but he had fun. He got to go to the Kentucky Derby and then to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Pretty cool week if you ask me. And of course he brought me back a stuffed race horse and a pink stuffed bear with a Cubs hoodie on. While Mommy and I were at Grammie's we went shopping, Tracy came to visit (more shopping), we visited Grammie's Tractor Supply store lots of times, went to lunch with Tracy, Teresa, and Wendy, and lots of other things. Also, we had a birthday party for Mommy and Grandma Betty, Grandpa John, Kristen, Frog, Jake, Alan, Allie, Devan, and Daddy all came to celebrate with us.

Towards the end of the week Mommy and I came to Danville. We visited Gigi at the school where she teaches and met a lot of her friends. And we went to Monical's with Grandma Betty. When I get older, I think I'm going to like pizza.

Then there was Mother's Day, Mommy's first. We saw Grandma Betty, Gigi, and Grammie. I went to a Mother's Day banquet with Mommy, Grandma Betty and Krissie at Grandma Betty's church. I got to go to the Beef House again with Popi, Gigi, Uncle Andy, Heather, Aunt Lisa, Mommy and Daddy. I like their strawberry jam, yum! Aunt Lisa got really embarassed because she almost got busted talking about someone and Uncle Andy turned as red as his hair when Daddy asked him if his engagment announcement was going to be in the paper (he's not engaged). What a crazy family I have.

Things have been a little more normal this week. I've been to Daddy's work a couple of times and to church with Mommy when she volunteers. I get to go to Promisetown while she works in the bookstore. Next week I go to the doctor and then visit everyone in Danville again for Memorial Day. Also Mommy and Daddy will probably take me on some walks if the weather is nice.

I'll keep you posted on how things go at the doctor.

Bye everyone.
